Welcome to my blog. This is all about me, Edge, and growing up with Mom and Gary. Mom was going to blog but I took over as it is a lot of fun. I am a Weimaraner that loves to hunt, play rally, agility, run, and eat good food. The World is my Playground and you are invited to share my experiences!

All rainy days are not bad!

Rainy days are usually no fun!  But Mom made this rainy day lots of fun and games.  Oh, and food too!   We started the day with a family breakfast, I like it when we have family meals as I get more snacks.  I run back and forth so Mom and Gary both give me food.

Then we did Mom's exercises.  Which usually means she tries to do her stretches while I put my toys on her and swing my tug toys in her face until she plays with me.  I also steal her weights so she has to chase me.

We also did MY exercises!!  I really like to do my physical therapy. We do all different things and I earn cookies.  Here I am posing in my cavalettis.

After Mom ran errands, we went to the park.  Since it was rainy, no one was there and I could run, and run, and run.   We even got rained on for a few minutes.  Luckily it was just sprinkles, and not down pour.  Mom had to wash my tummy when we got home as I ran through all the mud puddles.

Paper Boy

Mom enjoys reading the Sunday paper on the Sunday mornings that we are home.  This morning I got the paper and delivered it right to her lap. She was so excited that I was such a good helper.  She gave me cookies and told me what a great boy I am.  Then I ran to Gary, who also gave me cookies.  He had given the paper to me and asked me to take it to Mom.

OUR TURN

After Mom's walk through, we had to wait about 10 minutes and then we harnessed up and headed to the first station.  You wait "on deck" at 3 different stations as approaching the actual test.  Everyone was so nice and thought I was so handsome.  The workers talked to Mom along the way as they directed us from one station to the next.  When we got to the second station, they had practice boxes, so we went out and did one practice run.  Mom wanted to make sure I knew why we were here.  Well, considering it is all she has talked about as well as I have on my "nose work harness" I think I know why we are here.  We had two more stations and then it was our turn.  We walked through the door and I looked around and spotted the boxes.  I looked at Mom and said "I am READY!!"

We lined up before the start line, Mom asked if I was ready and then she turned me loose.  I found the right box in about 2 seconds (no kidding!!)  Mom delayed in calling "alert" as I think she was shocked that I found it so quick.  But she knows to trust me, called "alert" and the judge said I was right!!   I got my cookies and went to get my scorebook signed.  Everyone in the room complimented what a fabulous job I did.  Then when Mom went to get my book, I leaned up against the judge and gave him a big hug.  He gave me a hug back :)

Back to the car with lots of rewards and smiles.  Mom was so proud of me.  Then Mom had walk through for our second (anise) run.  We were third in this wave, so Mom came back early to get me.  Back to our stations and a quick peak at the practice boxes and we were off to compete.

We walked into the room again and this time the boxes were in a different place than before.  I looked at the boxes and looked at Mom and said "let's go!!"  We lined up, looked at each other and off we went.  I found the "hot box" in 3.38 seconds.  This time, mom did not delay, she called alert right away and of course I was right!!

I think I really impressed the judge.  He told Mom he had a friend that had been looking for a Weim and asked if Mom would give me up.  Yea, right??!!

Back to the van for more rewards and lots of praise and celebrating.  We took a walk and hit the road to come home.

What a FABULOUS trip!!  I had soo much fun.

We are HERE!!!

We are at the Nose Work site.  We are in "waves" 2 and 3, so there are dogs already working when we get here.  I know we are at the right place as I see everyone walking around.

When can we play Mom??  As you can tell, I am READY!!

Most of the time, you have to wait in the car for Nose Work.  So we are anxiously awaiting our turn.

Today is our big day!!

I am so excited to go play Nose work today.  Mom said I get two turns!!  I cannot wait!!

Here is what we wake up to this morning!  Snow in April!

At the hotel

We are at a great hotel!  It has two beds, so I can leap back and forth across the beds.  Usually we just have one bed, so I don't have so much fun jumping back and forth.  There is a lot of area to walk and there are bunnies!!!!   I knew there were bunnies and tricked Mom to keep walking the same fence line.  She finally figured it out and then wouldn't let me walk over there any more.

We had a great dinner, lots of walks and finally Mom made me rest.  As you can tell, I am not giving in that easy.  Who wants to rest, we have too much to do!!

Off to Michigan

Mom and I are packed and headed to Michigan to play NoseWork.  This will be our first official competition.  We are both excited to get started as it is a lot of fun.

ORT practice

Mom and I took all our stuff to the park to practice for our ORT next weekend.  You need a lot of space to put out 12 boxes.  We cannot do all the boxes and the cones in our family room and the deck now has deck furniture, so off to the park to practice.

I was able to find the hot box every time we tried.  Then we did exterior searches and Mom hid it all over the place.  She now tries to trick me, but I always come through.  She hid it in the planter, in the concrete floor, on the poles, in holes in the table, behind the trash can, any place she could find.  I was 100% successful.

I am good!  :)

Tricked Mom

Mom was doing her stretches this morning and I wanted to play.  So I took her weight and traded it for a toy.  I left her weight in the toy box and replaced it with my toy.

It worked!!!  We got to play tug this morning!

Hurry!

I am "patiently" waiting on mom to hide my odor so I can go find it.  I have to go in another room and wait while she finds some place to hide it.  Then I get to run in and "search" for it.  Then we start all over.  What a FUN game!!

New High Jump

This is the new jump that Grandma got us for Christmas.  We were able to set it up today and practice go outs and dumbbell retrieves.  It is so much easier to use than the old "20 year old one" that we have.  As well as it is plastic wood, so it can stay outside too.

Thank you Grandma!!!
