Practice!!

Mom and I went to run thrus tonight as we need to practice for our trial in a few weeks.  Mom was really nervous, more nervous than me!  It turned out to be a very interesting evening!

I did great on my heeling - Mom was proud of me and she let me know that.  Then we did articles and that is hard for me in the ring.  I grabbed the first leather but knew it was not right, so I carried it as I sniffed all the others, then I found the right one, so I traded.  The judge told me I made a good decision!  Of course I did :)   Then we did gloves, I really like my gloves.  We pivoted, Mom showed me which one and I took off to get it.  I was about 2' from it and realized a big GSD was right on the other side of the ring gate... hmmm, what to do.  I slowed down, and reached as far as I could and took the glove really careful in my teeth, turned around, flipped it in the air, caught it and ran to Mom.  I was very proud of my choices and so was Mom.  She thought I was just too cute. We had to do our moving stand and let the judge go over me and then on to go outs and directive jumping.  We did a good job. 

There were a lot of people signed up, so we just worked through open on our own.  And then we headed home.

Big Day

We had an exciting day today, Mom took vacation and we went to our workshop.  We both really enjoy going and seeing our friends and 2 hours of playing.  We went home for a little while, played in the back yard and then went for our massages.  I really needed my massage as I hurt my back.  I didn't even let Pat in the room and I was sitting on her feet so she could fix my back.

I felt so much better when she was done, then it was Mom's turn.   When we got home, I crashed!  It was a fun day and I feel so much better.

Frog Legs!!

Gary came home and said he had a special treat for me - I couldn't wait!!!  Gary likes all kinds of different foods like I do.  He fired up the grill and got out the special package and then pulled out  FROG LEGS!!  I have never had frog legs before, I have tried to catch them at Pat's house but never did.  Now I get to eat them!!   Gary put them on the grill and I supervised as I could not wait.

When we finally got to eat them, they were GREAT!!   I would like to have them every night for dinner.  Gary told Mom not to get any ideas of him fixing them for training treats.  I liked them this much....

BIG jump

I am entered in my first obedience trial that I have to jump a BIG jump, so Mom decided we better start practicing it.  She doesn't like me jumping 28" so we practice at lower heights.  I am posing with my BIG jump.  We went out early this morning and set up all my obedience stuff and practiced before it got too hot.

Baby EARS!

Mom was looking through pictures this morning and found this great EARS! picture.  This was my very first day with Mom.

Has your Mom ever embarrassed you?

We went to run today and we were almost to the field when Mom yelled at me to look.  As I turn around, a dog is charging at me.  YIKES!  Mom tells me to come, so I am running to her when the dog gets to me.  He kept poking me!!  I was trying to get to Mom and he would not leave me alone.  His Mom was really far away and mom yelled to her to get her dog.  I was trying to be good and "Eddie" would not leave me alone.  His mom finally gets to us and he will not listen.  His mom said that he was just one, oh no, that is not an excuse....  I know it is coming!!  Mom says, then he should not be off lead then.  I wanted to hide.   I know Mom was sticking up for me.   Eddie's mom was not happy and told mom not to lecture her.   But it took 10 minutes for Eddie to be caught and it was only after his mom continuously screamed at him, it sure hurt my ears!!  I guess Mom was right, but I get embarrassed.

When she finally caught him, they packed up and left. 

But I don't want my nails done

It has been such a great weekend and so many fun games, why do we have to end it with nails??  Please don't make me... just give me cookies instead.

Nightly visitor

Mom has had a visitor every night when we have been out on the deck.  It lands on her book, iPad, or whatever she is doing and flaps its wings at her.  Last night I was by her chair, so it landed on the deck where i couldn't reach it and did the same thing.  She has a special friend!

next best thing?

The birds are not even out playing in the heat.  But I know they have been, they left evidence!

Fun... HOT.... day

Mom had a great idea to go out and play early this morning.  I am "game" to go play anytime, but was excited that we went out first thing this morning.   Here I am, going out to play in my yard

Mom and I have been outside playing today and it is HOT!!   I am so glad that I have my own fan to crash in front of, after eating ice cubes of course.

But of course, Mom has to take a picture and interrupt my cooool relaxation.  Hey Mom, is that REALLY necessary???

Playing Alligator

Why listen to me...

I don't know how I could be more clear, the critter is HERE!

It is under the deck - I promise and I am even showing you exactly where.   I know how to hunt, trust me, follow my nose.

All week I have been telling Mom and Gary that the critter is under the deck.  They have looked a few times and then dismiss it.  Finally this morning, when they could smell it too, they decided to look right where I told them.  There it was.

I even got down to help Gary, don't want to lose their attention now.

But then when they saw it too, they made me go in the house.  I didn't even get to help after all my hard work.

It was so nice outside today, Mom wanted to eat on the deck.  Since the deck furniture is still out back, we had to improvise.  Mom was laughing at me as I got all excited, smiled and wagged my tail when I realized what she was going to do.  That tray was at my height!  :)

Fun day

We had a fun day today.  Mom had a "work from home" day so I got to hang out in the office with her all day.  And I got snacks!!  :)  I like work from home days as we eat all day long.  Then we went to play.  We worked on our new "ready, set go..." and Mom thought I did a great job.  We were able to practice going in the ring, play, cookies! and start all over.  I did a good job and had a lot of fun.

Mom said we get to go to class tomorrow too.  One last time!   I am excited!

A G I L I T Y ! ! ! !

Today was a great day!!  Gary and Mom got out all my agility equipment.  I was SOOOO excited!!!  I was running and jumping and twirling and I was testing every obstacle as it came out of the shed.  I even did the tunnel as they were trying to carry it.  I was doing my contacts before it was put together and walking the planks while they were still on the ground.  I had so much fun.  After it was all done, I got to test it all out.  I did aframes and dogwalks and ran back and forth through the tunnel.   I hope we can play some more tomorrow.

I helped brush off all the contacts too.   We brushed all the "stuff" off before playing!

 

New Collar

Mom ordered a new collar for me from All Leashed Up!  We both really like it and it matches my new obedience leash.  I can't wait to show it off!!   You can also see me "modeling" on their Facebook page.
