Bunny hunting

I went out tonight before bed and went bunny hunting! I would have gone out earlier if Mom would have let me, she is so worried about me in this heat. I found one and chased him and even leaped through the brush after him, but he ran under the fence. They are such fraidy rabbits, have to run under the fence to get away, that really is not fair!

Mom's new shirts

Mom went to the trial yesterday just to get shirts, and made me stay home??!!?? She ran other errands so it was too hot for me to wait in the van. She thinks the one looks like me. I agree with the big ears, but I don't think I have true chipmunk cheeks.

Morning walk

We did something different today, we got out of bed and went straight to the park. Mom thought I may not like that since I didn't have breakfast, but it was okay as I LOVE going to the park!!! It was so cool outside too, so it was worth it. It was great when we got there as we were the only ones on the path. I was able to run and play and do whatever I wanted. But then other dogs started coming to walk too, so I had to put my leash back on. There were two runners there too, but they really liked me and I would sit by Mom's side and wait for them to go by. Since I was good, Mom let me stay off leash.

It was great fun, but now we are home and I still do not have breakfast??? I may have to think twice about doing this again. Mom says I have to wait awhile to eat. I do not think that is fair. She got to eat???!!!

Fun day

Mom and I had a great day today. We played inside and outside, I got to hunt outside and help Mom do lots of fun things. It was really hot outside though, so we had to keep coming inside to cool off and then go back out. I always run to the freezer as soon as we get inside for ice! I like ice and it makes me coooool...

After our great day, we curled up on the couch again. Mom read and I relaxed!

WEEKEND!!!

I am so excited for the weekend!!! Gary is golfing and it is just Mom and me. We started our weekend with a cookout and playing agility. Then we curled up on the couch with snacks and watched TV. I'm sure Mom has more fun things planned for us this weekend. I hope so because I am feeling good and READY!!!

HEELING!

Figure 8

Mom and I worked on our figure 8 tonight. I think I did a great job and really enjoyed it. We had a miscommunication at the end as I thought we were done and Mom thought I should sit first.

silly Mom

Mom thought it was cute to play peke-a-boo with me this morning when she was getting ready for work. She even took pictures. She is so silly sometimes!

Early morning visitor

Gary and I were eating breakfast this morning and Gary looks out the window to spot our visitor. He started yelling for Mom to come and see. We told Gary they had been out there, Mom could see their "bed" and I could smell them. But he saw them! They come to our house to eat the apples and "clean" grass that has no chemicals. I really do not mind sharing with them!

Great class

Mom and I went to agility tonight. She was worried about me after the weekend, but I was feeling good!! We worked on some jumping exercises and Mom thought I was doing something wrong, but guess who was?? It wasn't me, I was doing it right!! :)

Then we did a sequence and I aired the aframe, it was fun to fly over the top. But it caused a little issue in holding my contact. Then Mom did a blind cross at the poles and it sent me flying over the jump as she didn't get in my way. I did miss the dogwalk, but I jumped too long and couldn't get back to it. I think that was Mom's fault too.

Then we had another sequence and we had the chance to do a difficult gamble. We didn't have to but if we did, Mom earned the privilege to use my name one time in a sequence. Well, I nailed that gamble, just like a pro.

And to end class we had to do 2 jumps, recall to heel and immediate left turn into the entry of the poles. So I had to work really hard to wrap that second pole as I was entering from a left turn right between one and two. I did it great on the first try. And earned a BIG jackpot of venison cookies and chicken necks. Woohoo what a great class, I had FUN!!

Mom was proud of me too for my down stays. When Mom would walk the sequence I would do a down stay by the gate. I did it for every sequence and never got up. One time I lost her and she noticed, so she told me where she was. Whew, glad she did as I was getting worried!

Busy Day

We got up early today as Mom and Gary took Gary's dad to breakfast. I didn't like them leaving me, but it was good to have early breakfast! I got bunny parts today, they were good! I also got a yogurt bone when they left so I had something to do for awhile. Mom brought me some egg from her breakfast. She always brings me goodies when they go out to eat :)

We packed all our stuff and headed to the training building. We rented it for an hour to play in the air conditioning. I was very excited to go and play. When we got there it wasn't quite as cool as we thought it would be, so we kept taking breaks to stay cool. Then Mom saw the fan and had me lay down in front of it to cool off. She was laughing and took pictures as it was really powerful and blew my ears in the wind!

We did some obedience, agility, and just running around playing with toys. We also worked on weaves and retrieves. I am glad we went as it was fun to work on so many different things. Mom took video, so maybe she will help me post it later.

Gary cooked out for us tonight too! I have had a great day and a lot of great food and think it is time for a nap in front of the fan!!

Venison Cookies YUM

Mom surprised me this afternoon - we made venison cookies!! When she opened the package I was so excited as it smelled really good. I couldn't control it and my tongue just started licking toward the venison trying to get a bite. Mom laughed at me! We mixed it all up and made little cookies and cooked them. Mom thought she would surprise me and saved a small bit for later and when she had her back turned I ate it! She got the surprise :) It was really good.

I got to eat one tonight when we worked on our obedience, but we put the rest in the freezer for later. I hope "later" happens really soon!

Fun Day

After I got Mom out of bed this morning and she fed me, we cut up all kinds of good treats. We were going to do it last night, but we didn't have power and Mom didn't want to keep opening and closing the refrigerator. So this morning we cut up "bunny chunks" and I got to have samples and even had some big bunny bone pieces. They were all really good!! I can't wait until we use them for training treats. Then we cut up some beef for my dinner and for more training treats. And then we cut up chicken! Mom uses the chicken for treats for me for ball work, so we cut up all kinds of chicken.

Then we went to ARF to do rally. I had fun and was glad to go back and play. I saw some friends that I have not seen before and Cindy gave me a big hug as I have not seen her in a LONG time! She really likes me :) Mom said I can go back next week to play too if I want and if I feel like it. I sure hope so!!

Silly Mom

When it was time to get up this morning, I kept trying to get Mom out of bed and she kept telling me to go back to bed. I couldn't figure it out?? She said it was time to sleep?? It was not time to sleep it was time to get up and eat breakfast. She forgot about the power outage I guess and thought it was night time because her clock said it was; but my belly told me it was breakfast time. I finally convinced her it was time to get up and she felt silly. Can you imagine, she believed a silly clock over ME!!???

Storm -the good and the bad

We couldn't go outside again today because it was 100 degrees again. I am getting very tired of staying inside; but.... another storm came through and made it nice outside. Mom and I went out and I ran and played right after the storm. And look at my shiny clean Aframe! The storm made it shine!!



The bad part is that it was dark inside!! We lost our power from the storm. Mom and I stayed in the eating area so the light came in through the window. We did had fun playing games and doing other fun stuff. But once the light quit coming through the window and I found out that my fan no longer worked, the fun went away. We put on camping lights and sat on the couch and mom massaged me. Well, I guess that wasn't so bad. The lights came back on just in time to go to bed.

Might as well not even ask

Well, I already know the answer before I ask Mom. She said that it was 101 degrees when she left work and even had proof for me. And that was just the temperature, the heat index was 110. So I just know I will not be able to go outside.



I'm sure we will play fun games inside though where it is nice and cool. And maybe we will even get to do ballwork tonight. I have decided that is a lot of fun, especially when Mom and Gary both help me!

Thank goodness for another storm!

Well, I usually do not like storms because I cannot go out and play (Mom's rule!) but tonight the storm let me go to class! Mom said we could not go because it was so hot again, but in rolls the storm and away goes the heat.

I was so glad we went as I got to be demo dog. I really like showing everyone how to do things. I got to demo the kick back stand as mine is really good :) And then I got to demo the scoot sits and I did a super job with those too! I think Mom was proud of me. And then Mom was asked to demo "bumper cars" and she said we were not good at that, but we did it anyways. I guess I did better than Mom, so it is not "we" that are not good at it. But that is okay, I will let her go back next week.

When we got home we went out and played in the back yard. Mom lost me and then she finally found me.. ON POINT! She never did find what I was pointing. I really wish she would have gone in after it.

oh, and we got bunny in the mail today! how exciting is that???!!! I helped Mom package it up and put it away, so I get bunny for breakfast, I cannot wait. I may get Mom up early :)

Mom was right

Ok, I have to admit, Mom was right. It IS hot out there. Wow, we went out back before the storm hit. I found 2 (yes - TWO) bunnies and chased them. Then I played a little and I was ready to go inside.

No Class tonight :(

We are supposed to go to class tonight and Mom won't let me :( I cannot believe she thinks it is too hot for me?? I think maybe it is just too hot for her and she doesn't want to admit it. I sure hope she lets me go later this week as I like to go to class and not stay home!!

Fun morning

Gary went golfing today so Mom and I got up early and went to the park. It was great outside!! We had the entire park / path to ourselves and there was a nice breeze to keep us cool. We played for a long time before others started coming to walk. Here I am after our walk:


After our walk we went to Panera for breakfast. I REALLY like to eat at Panera, we have bagels and yogurt and Mom has coffee. She brought ice for me, so I ate ice on the way there. We ran a couple of errands, one to get more mats for my training room so we have a bigger area.

Then we went home and played in the back yard. I was after that crazy bunny again. He hides in my yard and it is fun to find him. But he always runs under the fence.

Fan to the rescue

After a short play session and a walk in the park, I was HOT. Mom brought me home and gave me ice and I crashed on the cool bed with the fan blowing on me. I sure like those fans!!

Bunny, bunny, bunny

Well, not one that I caught, but Mom ordered bunny for me!! I can't wait, I should have it next week and I can have it for breakfast. She also ordered some ground venison to make venison cookies. Now that sounds good!! I help her make buffalo cookies and those are great, so I can't wait to help make (and taste!!) the venison ones.

Mom's new challenge

Mom was laughing at me tonight for doing things that normally she would not always laugh. We went to obedience class and I did a great job and even worked the entire time, and it was hot in the building! When we got home I went out in the yard and ran round and round and round and zoomed really fast. Then I ran up and slid across the deck and almost ran into the grill. We went out back and worked on weave poles and jump drills, that was fun!! Mom told me to "go play" but I wanted to play with her. I started heeling beside her, hey, mom, let's heel! So we did some heeling too. When Mom was ready to go in I grabbed her cell phone and let her know that *I* would carry it to the house for her. (It is my job to carry her phone every morning.)

When we got to the deck, Mom took her phone and I ran in the house and grabbed her BOT blanket and started throwing it around. Then I ran through the house with it and it flipped over my head. That was kind of fun and scary, running through the house not being able to see anything. Mom took it away from me as she told me I would get hurt. She took it upstairs and then I started playing tug with her with it. Then we went downstairs and I grabbed her shoe and took off with it.

Before bed, Gary, Mom and I were in the kitchen and I looked up and saw my new frisbee on top of the refrigerator. Hmmm, that would be fun. I looked at it and looked at Gary and back to the frisbee. He did not understand "Edge language" so Mom had to explain :) They would not give it to me, so I walked to the side of the refrigerator where my water bowl stand and food bowl stand are. Can I stand on them and reach it? Mom understood Edge language and told me to not even think about it. Oh, well, at least I tried!!

Mom is not happy with me :(

Mom drove me across town in rush hour traffic (yes, I have heard that many times tonight) to see Dr. Karen. It was not my normal appointment, it was an extra one. I got adjusted and felt really good. After we got home and had dinner, I was in the back yard to potty. I felt so good and was so happy I just took off running across the yard, hit the deck, slid across the deck and tried to weave through the door. Mom was watching me out the window and tried to beat me to the door to tell me to be easy, but she was too late. I slammed my left hip into the door jam and I screamed and it bounced me sideways. It really hurt!! Mom was not happy with me, but she still felt bad for me. She got the high powered ZEB and worked on me right away. She told me it is pretty sad that I cannot be perfectly adjusted for more than one hour. And Dr. Karen does not come back for another week and then she is gone for almost a month. I guess not a good time to get hurt!

Another use for Mom's shoe

Mom worked from home today and I was snoozin under her desk. There were no toys there, but her shoes were so I used them for a pillow. Not only does it make a good pillow, but she couldn't sneak out while I was sleeping!

Wow - Bedrock Bone!

Mom gave me a "bedrock bone" today and I was so excited. I have not had a bone for a long time as she was afraid the marrow bones would be too much fat. Well, this bone is just as good as it is BIG!!!

The storm brings good things

I went to agility class tonight and had soooo much fun!! Mom said this morning that I was not allowed to go because of the heat. I have been feeling better, but she was afraid to take me out in the heat and humidity to do agility. Well.... lucky for me, the storm brought in 75 degree weather and I got to play!!

I was so happy to go see new friends and watch them do agility too. And I did a great job when it was my turn. And one of my favorite friends was there, a little girl named Ashley. We have not seen her in a long time, but I remembered her as soon as she walked in the door. I stole her flip flop a long time ago!!! I was checking out her feet, but unfortunately, no flip flops today.

Too bad the weekend is over

Mom and I had so much fun this weekend, I am so sad that it is Sunday night. I wish we had another day to play. We did our ballwork today, which I really enjoy now and Gary said I am a dare devil on it. We practiced obedience, played agility outside, Mom and Gary took me out twice today. I flushed a bunny out of the hunting area and chased him under the fence. We also had a cookout and I got tuna!! I love eating tuna from the grill, it is very yummy! Gary made extra so I have it for practice too.

I am feeling better and better every day. I even did a "bounce" recall today and made mommy laugh!!!

Well, I guess Mom does not appreciate my help in changing sheets. She "buried" me in pillow cases and toys! See if I help again :)

Squirrel!

While we were playing frisbee a squirrel kept throwing things down at us. I think he wanted me to chase him! I finally went over to check him out, he was sitting in the tree watching us.

New frisbee!!

Yea!! I got a new frisbee today and then Mom, Gary and I went outside to play with it. I would run and get it and jump in the air and flip it and catch it. It was soooo much fun!!

Great start to my Sunday

We had a great start to our day. Up early, breakfast from Panera and then a Yogurt bone! Hope this is an indication of a great day in the makings!

I'm BAAACCKKK!!!

Mom said that I am back to my ornery self today. I told her to get up early, I asked for my back rub, I stole things off her desk and then I demanded to eat my breakfast. Not to mention all the racing around the house during all of this.

New Diet

With all the findings on my recent tests, Mom is changing my diet. I guess it is not too bad, I still get my chicken necks which are my favorite. I just have to eat all low fat food for now and she is adding more supplements to help my belly. The only challenge will be finding new treats. Gary keeps complaining that I probably cannot even taste my food, but I still inhale it.

We are going to try our new diet and supplements for one month and then retest to see if there are improvements. Which of course, means no breakfast on the day I have to go for the test... I don't understand why it is so acceptable to not give me breakfast???

Scary day for Me and Mom!

I had to go to the hospital today for more "inside pictures" so no breakfast, no snacks, no cookies and my appt wasn't until later so I had to wait a long time to eat. Mom said they were going to ultrasound my organs - whatever that means?? I just know it means a day with no food, going to a strange place, going with people I don't know and have odd things done to me. I knew Mom was worried too, I guess she was worried at what they might find. It wasn't so bad when we got there as there were a lot of dog friends. There were probably 10 dogs waiting. Mom and I sat over in the corner to fill out paperwork and I was a good boy and sat beside her and watched everyone. There was an older Golden on the floor close to me and I tried to get him to play, but he was not interested. He just gave me looks like "knock it off kid." Wow - can't blame me for trying. If we have to come here, at least we can have fun :)

Then they came and talked to Mom and got all my information and why I was there and then off I went - without Mom!! They tried to make me lay on some big, cold table and I said no way!! I guess the doctor went out and talked to Mom and told her I was big, young, strong and didn't want to lay on a table. So they got permission to give me some stuff to "knock the edge off." Like that is supposed to be funny??

Shortly after they were done with the test, they took me back to Mom and we were in a different room with couches? hmmm, this is not where I left her?? I could hardly stand up, but refused to sit down. I walked and walked and walked... Dr Shiroma came in and told Mom that all my organs looked good. whew!! I could tell Mom already felt better. He did say my prostate was "bright" and that was unusual. But it is usually dark and full of pockets if it is bad. He recommended I be neutered? hmm.... wonder what THAT means?? more days without breakfast and going to another hospital. I think I have done enough of that lately.

We went to the van and I got in and laid down. Mom was worried how she was going to get me out?? When we got home she and Gary moved everything out of the middle of the van so I could get out the other side of my cage. I didn't even know there was a door on that side. I went in the house and saw Gary's tuna fish and tried to lick it out of the bowl. I was hungry!!!

After demanding some food and walking around, Mom had a nice bed for me in the office complete with a fan to cool me off :) I crashed on the bed and slept for 2 hours. What a long day, for me and Mom!

Get On The Ball!

Mom and I are doing ballwork again. She started using my harness and treats instead of peanut butter and it works so much better. I am even doing puppy pushups on the ball now. I get a lot of good chicken for just balancing on the ball!
