Welcome to my blog. This is all about me, Edge, and growing up with Mom and Gary. Mom was going to blog but I took over as it is a lot of fun. I am a Weimaraner that loves to hunt, play rally, agility, run, and eat good food. The World is my Playground and you are invited to share my experiences!

Handsome boy!

Mom and I had fun tonight. We worked on retrieving with a frozen quail and I waited until released and then brought it back to Mom, well, most of the time I did :) Then Gary fired the gun while I was retrieving. After that we took a break and worked on my stacking. Aren't I handsome!! Mom and I finally have the issues worked out and we are a good team at stacking. She said she is going to start taking a quail with us to shows to play with before we show. Sounds great to me!!!

Pumpkin Pose

I can pose with my pumpkin too... what do you think?? Aren't I a handsome trick or treat boy! This is going to be another fun holiday.

Getting ready for trick or treat

Mom gave me a pumpkin so I can go trick or treating. I have never done this before and trying to figure it out. As you can see, I learned how to carry my pumpkin and then I can check out what I got. Mom said that I can take it to a lot of houses and get all kinds of good stuff to eat. WOW - that sounds like a fun thing to do!!! I can't wait to go trick or treating!!! I am practicing so that I am good at it and get lots of good things to eat. Mom always tells me that practice makes perfect.... and it is FUN!!!

Delaware show

Mom and I went back to Delaware today and I was a very good boy, she was so proud of me. I have not been too cooperative in the breed ring the last few times, but today I did GREAT!!! I listened from the time I walked in the ring. She gave me lots of treats when we were done. Several people told Mom how great I looked too.

When we got home, we went out and played in the nice weather. We worked on retrieving a bird and I did a good job. And then we did some agility and worked on some low jumps. After taking a break, I went back outside and just ran around and tracked squirrels. Mom told me that the rest of the day I could just run and play. We were outside most of the day and then had to come in as it was getting dark.

What a fun weekend!!!

BIRDS!!!!

After going to Delaware to play "pretty boy" (which by the way I did much better today and did what I was supposed to do) we went to Dan and Barb's to work in the bird field. I had so much fun. Their birds would not let me grab them, they could get away. So I learned pretty fast that if I went too close they would fly away. Mom was very proud of me to point as well as I did. I had some very nice stylish points too. After everyone got a turn and everyone ate dinner, we went back out in the field to run. Well, I still wanted to hunt! Even running with girls, I thought hunting was more fun. I found a quail and pointed it - wow, Mom was so happy that I pointed it. It was so much fun!!!

Rally Novice Leg #4

Mom and I went back to Dayton today and earned an "insurance leg" on our Rally Novice title. We really went because we had so much fun yesterday! As soon as we got there, though, I noticed there were "new" dogs there. They did not get to have fun on Friday like I did! I had to welcome them before I could get in my cage. There were also new people beside us, so I said "hi" to them too. Wow, more people came to watch me.

Mom and I practiced some more and I was teasing with her and would not do a down. I think I had her worried :) After she made me do it about 15 times, I decided the game was not fun anymore, so I quit teasing. We had 2 downs on our course today.

Once again, Mom walked our course and it was soon our turn. I did a good job and listened to Mom, but someone dropped something outside the ring so I had to look to see what it was. After Mom told me it was okay, I kept working. Then we had the left "flip" finish and I launched in the air, grabbed Mom's arm and landed in place. I really like flying in the air, but I don't think I am supposed to touch Mom's arm :) We had a pretty good score again today - a 98!!

There was a photographer at the trial today, so we waited to look at our action shots, as well as I had a photo done with my ribbons.

I also met a boy in a wheelchair and a lady with a walker. I heard several people tell Mom I should do therapy work as I really wanted to visit with the boy and I went over and saw the lady several times, she really liked me :) She asked Mom if I was a champion as I sure looked like I should be.

Mom said we can still go to some rally trials and practice until I am ready to be "unleashed" in the advanced class. I sure hope so as I had LOTS OF FUN!!!

Rally Novice Title!!

I earned my Rally Novice title (RN) AND a first place!! Mom and I drove to Dayton early this morning. We went to a really nice building and we set up my cage so I could stay in the building all day. Then we took a long walk and went in to get settled. We had a few hours before it was my turn, so we practiced rally and "see it" different places around the building. I got to meet a lot more dog friends. I really like going to all these new places and meeting new friends. And my friend Doug was there asking me to go hunt birds with him. I was really excited to see him!! Dr. Joanne was there too and she was crated beside us. She thought I was a silly boy :) I saw Mom walking our course and I got excited, I really like to play rally. It was soon our turn and Mom and I went in the ring. I was a very good boy and watched Mom and did everything she asked - I earned a 99!! Then we got to go back in the ring and we found out we earned first place - woohoo!! Not bad to finish our title and win the class. Mom was very proud of me. The judge told Mom that I was a very nice working young boy. I think so :)
We stayed until the trial was over and got a picture with the judge. There was not a photographer there, so we used Mom's camera.

I slept all the way home... ate dinner and took a 2 hour nap. That was a long day, especially since I had to work so hard. But the good news is that we get to go back tomorrow!!

Winner's Dog !!

Mom and I drove to Urbana today to show. When we got there, we took a long walk and practiced gaiting and stacking. We had to go to the ring early as we did not know if all the dogs showed up in front of us or not. I was a very good boy and stayed with Mom and was not all over the place. Well, until I saw the little girl Toller puppy. Then I wanted to go see her!! She was so cute. But then it was time to show. I didn't stack very well, but I had very nice gaiting and really listened to Mom. It was exciting to get my ribbons!! We waited until the judge was done with our group so we could get pictures. It turned out pretty nice. I will post it as soon as we get our copy.

Birthday surprise from California

My Grandma and Grandpa and my Weim family in California sent me incredible birthday gifts. The package arrived today and I wasn't sure what to do. At first I just looked at the box and then Mom helped me get out some of the great presents. Then I smelled them!! I put my nose on one of the toys and just inhaled that good "home" smell. Mom helped me get all the good things out; there were toys, treats, a birthday hat and a bandana. Mom tried to take my picture with the hat and bandana and I told her only one hat per year and I already did that!!! So I just had my picture with the bandana. Then I found the pupcorn - I LOVE pupcorn!!! That is what I choose when I am near the bulk bins at the pet store and Mom isn't watching :) The big birthday cake even plays music. I carried it around all night long. There was also a big tennis ball tug toy and Gary and I played with that for a long time. But he wanted the handle!!! The handle is for me, not for him! We had so much fun with all the new toys.
I have had such a great birthday!!!

Rally Novice Leg #2

Mom and I went to another rally trial today. It was a lot of fun and I got to see my girlfriend again. Mom wondered what I was so excited about, she told everyone that I puffed my chest out and wagged my tail, then she saw her too. I got to meet another Weim and lots of other dogs that I had not seen before. I did a good job and earned my second RN leg. I know how to do all the signs, but sometimes it is hard to focus that long when there are so many different things going on. I still think the best part is going back in the ring to get your ribbons and toy!

I also do a jumping flip finish and the photographer got pictures of me jumping in the air. Mom ordered the pictures and we will have them in a few weeks. So I will post them when the come so that everyone can see how good I am!!

Just one more leg and I will have my title!! But I sure hope we can keep playing as I really enjoy going to trials!!

Big booboo!!

I fell off the dogwalk tonight, or more like rolled up the ramp of the dogwalk. Mom did some funky cross and I ran behind her and up the dogwalk. I guess I went at an angle as the next thing I know I'm hanging across the board the wrong way. Mom helped me off and made me lay down so she could check me out. I had a big chunk of skin out of my left knee and burn marks and more chunks of skin out of my shoulder. I also had an indentation across my ribs. I was embarrased and when Mom released me, I had butt tuck zoomies around the back yard.
When we went inside, Mom made me take arnica over and over. Every time I moved she was giving me more. She massaged me, stretched me, zebbed me and did some reiki on my sore spots. I felt better by bedtime.
