WOOHOO!! It's my birthday!!

Today is my birthday and it started with opening presents and new toys and treats!! Wow, what a way to start my day, it would be great to start every day like this. Then Mom brought home my favorite thing for lunch - Burger King chicken tenders. YUM!! they are good!!!! I was dancing when I saw what she brought home. She usually does not buy them for me, Gary does, so I was surprised to see Mom have them.

We also had a cookout for my birthday and I had tuna steak and shrimp for dinner - YUM!! Mom tried to take pictures of me with my meal and I couldn't wait - I had to stick my tongue out and sneak a bite :) It was SOOO good. I also had to wear this silly birthday hat, but I chewed it up as soon as Mom took my picture.

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for my birthday too. They gave me money so that I could pick out my own special treats. I got a bully bully stick, some BIG cookies, and some really yummy blueberry cookies. It was fun to go shopping with my own money! WOW!! What a great birthday I had - I can't wait to do this again!!!!

Edge is outside playing, so I took over his blog to wish him a VERY happy birthday today. He is such a very special boy and has brought such an incredible energy to our home. He has matured into a very nice young man and I am so proud of how much he has accomplished in his young life. Happy Birthday Edge, Love Mom

Fun week until it started raining!

Mom and I have had a very fun week. We have trained every night and I am learning so many new things. The most exciting thing is that now I can heel backwards!!! Mom is so excited! She showed everyone at class, well, *I* showed everyone at class for her :) We went to Home Depot on Wednesday to practice, it is so much fun to go there and meet all the people. Every one wants to meet me. I was a very good boy at rally class again and even surprised mom. I was so energetic as I didn't get much exercise on Thursday and mom was afraid to take off my leash. But I surprised her and worked very hard. I even did a long distance stand for exam for the bonus. We did more indoor activities today as it is still raining! Then grandma and grandpa came to visit for our birthdays. I love when they come to see me. I give them toys, run through their legs, and talk to them. I sure hope it quits raining so that mom and I can go out and play and hunt tomorrow.

Birds! Agility!! Exhaustion...

We got up early today and headed to the Delaware dog training area again. I was SOO excited. As soon as I got in the van and smelled the birds, I knew where we were going. We had a hard time finding a place to work as everyone was out working this morning. I was getting impatient as I wanted to HUNT! I did a great job again today and did better with my pointing. I did get the last bird though!! Mom put it really far out in the field and didn't think I would find it so fast, but my nose is really good!

Later in the afternoon, Mom and Gary raised the dogwalk and teeter. I have been doing great with them lower, so mom felt it was time to move them up. Then I went out and did a few short sequences and mom said I didn't even notice they were higher. (Of course I noticed - I *watched* them raise them??!) Maybe Gary can video me tomorrow and post it for all my friends to see. I like doing agility with mom and she thinks I am awesome - she tells me that all the time :)

We have had a big weekend and I have been very busy - I am TIRED!! I went in the house and just fell on the floor. I got up to eat dinner and then crawled in my bed and went to sleep!! I even rolled on my back and snored!! It is hard being a versatile boy, it is fun, but a lot of hard work! Hopefully mom doesn't have any more activities planned as I really need my rest.

Cookout and birthday celebration

Gary planned a great cookout for mom's birthday today. Mom and Gary had steak and I had tuna steak and shrimp. It was so much fun and I helped Gary cook, I am a good helper in the kitchen!! Then we had cake and ice cream - the frosting was really good!!

Conformation match

Mom and I went to a conformation match at Sami's house today. Some of my friends were there and some new friends came too. We got lots of turns and got to go by ourself and with a group. Mom and Sami said I did a really good job and everything seems to be coming together. Mom is doing better with my stacking and I am really reaching out on my gaiting and staying right in place with mom! It was really nice until the last few minutes. We all had to go in the ring and we really had to work!!! It was getting hot and we had to stack and gait and stack and turn and I had been working for 2 hours. I kept working for mom, but it was really hard to hold it all together. I slept all the way home!

Running at Alum Creek and Rally Class Graduation!

Mom came home from work early today and we went to Alum Creek to run. It was GREAT!! It was nice outside and lots of birds were out too. I ran and ran and ran and chased birds and jumped on a big rock and then ran some more. You can see how much fun I am having!!

Later in the evening we went to rally class - I really like going to rally class! I had so much fun and did a great job. I did another adv/excellent course off leash! I had to do a recall over a jump, another running recall and a send over a jump and then return to mom. Mom was told that we can move to the advanced class as I am ready!! So I graduated - WOOHOO!! Now I get to play with the "big dogs!" :)

Mom and I went to a photo shoot during the summer. She didn't know they were going to make her get pictures too! We had a lot of fun and got a lot of great pictures.

BIRDS! BIRDS! AND MORE BIRDS!!

OMG!!! We had so much fun this weekend. We drove really far away and mom kept telling me how much fun we were going to have. I had no idea what she had planned this time... Then she put a cage of birds in our car. hmmm, wonder what we are going to do with those. WOW! she was right... we had a blast. We stopped at the Delaware Dog Training area and after she planted some birds, she turned me loose. She also lost a bird when she was trying to get one out of the cage and it flew away. As soon as she let me loose, I was on the bird she planted - BOOM! there it is mom!!! Then I was really working and she thought I was just being a baby and didn't know where the bird was. Well, I showed her, *I* found the bird that she let get away. I DO know what I am doing!!! You should have heard her, she was so proud of me. I really am a natural at this and know what I am doing. (Mom thought I was tracking her, so she tried to fool me, but then she figured out that I was HUNTING, not tracking...) I can't wait to do this again, it was SOOO much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can see me in action as Mom took lots of video of me too!

Rally Class

We finally went back to class tonight. We have been out of town the past two weekends and missed our class. I was such a good boy!!! We had an advanced/excellent level course and I nailed it!! Everyone was so impressed with me, hmm, I was impressed too! :) I did a long distance off leash recall, I did another recall that I had to wait while mom RAN and then called me, and I did a great moving down. And then my bestest friend was sitting right beside me and I had to do a right finish. Boy, that was hard, I looked at him, but kept working for Mom. I really wanted to go play, but glad I didn't as I got LOTS of cookies for working.

Mom and I went to Cincinnati for the weekend and had a lot of fun. We went to a Weim Specialty on Friday. It was pretty hot and I was stung by a bee as I was walking in for sweeps. Then the bugs would not leave me alone. I could not concentrate on what mom was asking as bugs were buzzing all over me. I was able to rest before the Specialty and mom sprayed some icky stuff on me and we did much better this time. We didn't stand still long enough for the bugs to bother me and I could focus a little better. Then we did rally!!! YEA! I really like to do rally. It was my first AKC Rally trial and I Q'd with a 92. The best part was going back in
the ring with all the other dogs and getting my toy!! WOOHOOO!!
fun stuff and a toy. I am proud of my new toy! I couldn't wait to get
home and show it to Gary. We went reserve on Sunday morning before coming home. Mom told me she was very proud of me as I was a very good boy all weekend. I know I had fun!!!
